​​​​​Arianna Zindler is a maker at heart. As a special effects fabricator, certified pyrotechnician, and welder, she combines craftsmanship, engineering, and creativity to build practical effects for film, television, and live performance. Special effects are illusions that enhance storytelling using practical techniques that are too dangerous or impossible to do in reality. Her career has taken her from prop shops and theater stages to film sets, where she creates everything from fire effects to custom machinery.  She loves projects that push the limits of what can be built by hand.

 

A member of IATSE Local 52, Arianna specializes in metal fabrication, welding, carpentry, and creative problem-solving. Her work ranges from operating rain, wind, fire, and fog effects on set to fabricating custom machinery and one-of-a-kind pieces behind the scenes, often using pyrotecnics to spark awe and wonder. 

At the core of her work is a love of making. Whether she's building a complex effects rig, a puppet, a prop, or a piece of scenery, she's drawn to projects that seem impossible at first glance. Her favourite moments are the ones that leave her thinking, "I can't believe I just built that."  She is a magic maker, merging art with science.
